Mel B, Scary Spice of the Spice Girls and a judge on America’s Got Talent, is working to stop her ex-husband Stephen Belafonte from seeing her 10-year-old daughter Angel Murphy Brown, according to the Blast. In documents obtained by the entertainment news site, Mel B (full name Melanie Janine Brown) claims that Belafonte, when she was not present, would show Angel and her two sisters, 19-year-old Phoenix and 6-year-old Madison, videos of ISIS beheading people. “Stephen thought it was funny or educational,” the document reads, “(I still do not know).”

Belafonte sounds like a real asshole in the report: Phoenix also claims that Belafonte would call her “retarded” and eat the school lunches that her mother packed for her. (Important note: Belafonte is Madison’s father, and the other girls have different dads. Angel’s biological father is Eddie Murphy.) According to documents excerpted by the Blast, Mel argues that Belafonte also got Madison mixed up with Angel in his own declaration:

“Stephen states that Angel loved everything pink and now likes everything sparkly and gold. Angel hates bright colors and sparkles and only likes black and brown. [...] Our daughter together, Madison, loves gold and anything sparkly.”

Indeed, the New York Daily News reported in September that Belafonte was fighting for visitation rights to see Angel, who he claims has never had another father figure in her life besides him: “I believe my request for stepparent visitation is in Angel’s best interests, as Angel has been accustomed to spending time with me and sees me as the only father figure in her life.”

Mel filed for divorce from Belafonte in March of last year, and the fallout has not been pretty. At the MTV VMAs in August, Mel wore a glittery, gold- and rainbow-colored dress that read “You Will Never Own Me.” The couple finalized their split a few months later, in December.
