R&B singer Trey Songz (real name Tremaine Neverson) was arrested for assault Monday after turning himself in to the Los Angeles Police Department. Songz allegedly punched a woman, Andrea Buera, at a party over the NBA All-Star weekend (February 16 - 18) in Hollywood. After the arrest, Songz was released on a $50,000 bail, just two hours later.

In a press conference Wednesday, Buera described being choked and punched by Songz in front of several people who failed to intervene. “I had to go to the hospital because he hit me so hard that I had a concussion,” she said of the incident. “I wake up in the middle of the night having flashbacks, as it constantly replays in my head.”

Buera’s lawyer, Lisa Bloom, announced they filed a restraining order against Songz:

“We took this step today to protect my client’s rights to peacefully live and work, and we will continue to fully cooperate with law enforcement’s investigation of this serious matter. The room was filled with Mr. Songz’ friends and employees. We are asking just one of them with a conscience to reach out to us and tell us what they saw. Don’t be a bystander to violence against women.”

This isn’t the first accusation of assault directed at Songz: In December of last year, TMZ reported that a Philadelphia woman sued the singer for attacking her outside a strip club while she tried to take a photo with him—she alleges Songz smacking a phone our of her hand and broke her glasses.

Prior to that, in 2016, Songz was charged with aggravated assault of a police officer following a concert in Detroit. He was sentenced to an 18-month probation.

So far, Songz only public statement on Buera’s allegations are these two tweets, sent Monday:
