Did you know Logic, the 28-year-old rapper behind “1-800-273-8255,” was married? Did you know he’s getting divorced? I learned both recently, while reading about Logic’s newly announced split from 25-year-old social media personality Jessica Andrea.
“It’s very simple,” a statement that Logic tweeted on Tuesday reads, “it just didn’t work out. There is no anger involved. No fighting, no cheating, no nothing. We love each other and will continue to support each other for the rest of our lives.” Andrea retweeted it, adding “I love you Bobby <3 and love to all the fans!”
Is it that simple? A closer look reveals there was some inkling of trouble in paradise. Rumors first circled the former couple last week, when Page Six discovered that Andrea was no longer following Logic on Instagram. (As of writing, both Andrea and Logic follow each other on Instagram again.) TMZ reported that Logic told Andrea he wanted a divorce after the Grammys, which the two attended together, and that his reason was simply that he was happier single than married. There are many headlines and articles referring to Andrea as Logic’s “estranged wife” swirling about, although that feels like a cheap shot without any context or explanation behind it.
In February, Logic revealed he’d gotten in a tattoo that reads “Happy wife, happy life” years ago, before he was even married. I can’t tell if that’s interesting or just kind of sad.
Without love, what’s next for Logic?
