What’s your ideal karaoke experience? Is it a duet with a pal who can belt out a perfect rendition of Britney Spears’ “Lucky” without looking at the screen? Is it a sing-a-long of George Michael’s “Careless Whisper” with a long-lost friend? Or is it a performance of your favorite song with the artist of said song? The latter happened to a group of Lana Del Rey fans in the wee hours Monday morning (so, laaaate Sunday night) at a karaoke bar in California, when the singer joined them for a rendition of her single, “Cherry,” from her last album, 2017's Lust for Life.
As seen in the video above, Lana Del Rey doesn’t just stand in the audience, watching her fans—she joins the crew, dances alongside them (and later, she even threw them a Tweet).
I’m a casual fan of karaoke, but I’ll perform every weekend now until the end of time if it means Lana Del Rey might one day appear for a duet. From here on out, you can find me singing “Honeymoon” in the backroom.
