Last November, Kodak Black was arrested on charges of sexual battery in South Carolina. A grand jury indicted the rapper on charges of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, local ABC affiliate WPDE reported Monday. The charges stem from the sexual assault of a teenage girl that allegedly took place at a Florence County Comfort Inn and Suites after one of Kodak’s shows last February.
Kodak previously served three months in jail earlier this year for an unrelated probation violation. A trial date has yet to be set, and he’s been ordered not to contact the victim or her family. If convicted, the rapper could face up to 30 years in prison.
We have reached out to his attorney for comment and will update this post if we hear back.
Update (10.10.17, 9:50 a.m.): Kodak’s attorney, Beattie Ashmore, shared a statement with TrackRecord: “I am aware of the indictment and it was expected as a normal part of the pending case.”
