In case you haven’t heard: Beyoncé is rich. Not normal person rich, but the richest woman in music-rich, according to Forbes, who recently put out a list of the richest women in music. The magazine, devoted to money and publicizing how much money the wealthiest in society earn, said that Beyoncé made $105 million last year. Her album Lemonade and jam-packed arena tours are responsible.
Adele claimed the #2 richest woman in music spot with $69 million, and tumbling into third was Taylor Swift with a very preposterous $44 million. Last year Swift held the crown at $170 million, still riding the high of her uber-successful 2014 album 1989. Next year, Swift should be back fighting for the top slot with the release of her album, Reputation, and stadium tour.
The rest of the list skewed towards legacy acts like Celine Dion ($42 million), Dolly Parton ($37 million), and Barbra Streisand ($30); along with contemporary pop stars like Rihanna ($36 million), Britney Spears ($34 million), and Katy Perry ($33 million). Peep the top 10 list below:
1. Beyoncé: $105 million
2. Adele: $69 million
3. Taylor Swift: $44 million
4. Celine Dion: $42 million
5. Jennifer Lopez: $38 million
6. Dolly Parton: $37 million
7. Rihanna: $36 million
8. Britney Spears: $34 million
9. Katy Perry: $33 million
10. Barbra Streisand: $30 million
Though these musical juggernauts have more wealth than most of us could ever imagine, there’s something reassuring about the list’s diversity of race, age and genre. Get it.
