Update (12.7, 10:18 a.m.): Charli XCX, queen of the mixtape, is blessing us with, you guessed it, another mixtape: Pop 2. Speaking to BBC Radio 1 DJ Annie Mac, Charli revealed her star-studded endeavor is real: “It’s the first song from a very real mixtape that myself and A.G. have been working on for the past couple of months. It’s called Pop 2. It’s going to drop a week from now but I might release a couple of songs before the full thing. It’s coming.” We can’t wait.
Original Story (12.4, 5:41 p.m.): Charli XCX, no stranger to collaborative songwriting and performing, teased a new mixtape yesterday via Twitter, where “teased” means “I’m going to pretend this is real because it’s almost too good to be real and a girl has got to dream.” Check it:
What did we do to deserve a Charli x Carly Rae Jepsen collaboration? Nothing. We did nothing, and we are being rewarded for nothing. Bless us all, it’s the American way.
A PC music update account listed a series of track titles that have yet to be confirmed but holy shit, they are just as great as the people involved:
