In case you didn’t know, Eminem and Elton John have one of music’s most surprising friendships. Their public camaraderie dates back to the 2001 Grammys, where the two performed Eminem’s hit song “Stan,” despite public protest from the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, in reference to the rapper’s homophobic lyrics (John’s status as an openly gay musician in pop music certainly confuses things.) Nearly two decades later the pair remain close: This weekend Elton John stopped by The Graham Norton Show and talked about Em.

Elton John describes being gifted a particularly lavish wedding gift by the Detroit rapper. “He was accused of being homophobic by so many people because of his lyrics, but I thought it was nonsense...We became friends,” says John of their longstanding friendship. “I got this package from Eminem that shows you how homophobic he isn’t. We had two diamond-encrusted cock rings, on velvet cushions,” said John. “I have to say, they have remained unused.”
